SEE YOU SOON

It’s been a decade since I penned my first blog post. So for those new here; welcome to the intersection of my heart and mind. I want to preface your expectations with this important point: my pen doesn’t care about your expectations.

Now back to wrk.

At the time of my first post in 2013, I was navigating a state of depression. I was also embarking on a new journey; being a full time entrepreneur in the health and wellness industry. The content and tone of my previous posts were both vulnerable, dark, and inspiring. It ended up being a catalyst for a life changing breakthrough and a manifesto for my present life.

Be that as it may; I am not the same person I was when I first published The Transition in 2013. My intention this time around is to use my words, knowledge and experiences to inspire, while highlighting my values and perspective along the way. My writing style will continue to read like a journal. The topics I cover will be the ones that highlight the intersection of wellness and culture, but from my personal view.

There are some important details you should know about me, Percell, the person. Not what you think you know from the content I share on social media.

I am dyslexic. It is my superpower, but also something that impacts my ability to both process and express myself in all mediums. It also impacts how I interact with people in social settings.

I have 7 siblings whom exist at various ends of the human spectrum with regard to their class, gender, sexual orientation, education, creativity, religious beliefs, health conditions, and careers experiences.

I have healthy relationships with both my parents. They’re both educated and gregarious people. My mother is a Pastor and Columbia alum. My Dad is a social worker, post office supervisor, NYU alumni and addict.

My name is Percell Alfnzso Dugger. I am a lot of things. Above all, I am a storyteller. What you understand as the concept of health and wellness serves as the platform in which my stories live. I’m the walk it like i talk it type. I’m the live it how I get it type. When I critique; know that the things I create are my solutions. My platform is not merely for the sake of my personal gain, but rather a predestined outcome to manifest the change I wish to see; at scale.

I am inspired by the work of James Baldwin, Bell Hooks, Henry David Thoreau, and Drake lol.

May the perspectives told here take up residence in your soul. May my words grant you access to explore the unknown depths of your heart, in such a way, that you are compelled to manifest care and love without boundaries, and expectations. James Baldwin once said: The place in which I’ll fit will not exist until I create it.

You should know; I took his words as a personal challenge.

See you at wrk
